Why sweep your chimney?
The main reasons for regularly sweeping your chimney are:

To prevent house and chimney fires
To reduce the risk of dangerous fumes (e.g. Carbon Monoxide)
To assist in the efficient burning of fuel

Landlords have an obligation to their tenants to have the fire swept annually. A number of insurance companies require that chimneys are swept to an industry standard and a certificate is issued in order to maintain the validity of your house insurance. Thames Chimney Sweeps issue these certificates and carry out a smoke draw test at the end of every sweep.

How often should you get your chimney swept?
